Today I made the drive to my parents house for Thanksgiving with my kids. I tell you what, TOUGH to stick to a diet while doing that! All I wanted was to stuff my face with cherry twizlers and drink a diet coke. Because that's what you eat on a road trip. Duh.
I am proud to say I refrained. I brought apples, bananas, water, and got some jerky to get some protein in there. I did splurge on some buffalo flavored wheat thins, but I also counted them out and only had one serving. (Did you know there are 2 grams of protein in buffalo flavored wheat thins?)
Getting my protein in hasn't been too bad, I just have to pay attention and choose foods that will help me reach my goal instead of other things I would prefer to eat. The hardest part for me right now is the water. I stare and my water jug and grimace. There are times I still need to drink 30 ounces of water and only have a half an hour before bedtime, so it becomes a chugging contest against the clock. I dunno how to fix that, and water add-in's only appease me for so long. But I do have to say that I do feel a lot healthier since I started drinking so much water, so I'll keep on keeping on!
