So I won't be getting the points for the group challenge this week. Lame right? I issue a challenge and then biff it!
Just too many treats in the house from visitors and the holiday and too many "exceptions" for myself. I issued the challenge to give myself the extra incentive to really plan for and consider the empty calories I choose, but I already failed this one. BOO!
I have continued to keep track of the calories I'm consuming, and I am continually staying within my reduced calorie budget for weight loss. But I have noticed before that when my calories come too much from refined sugars, I just don't lose as well.
I will have to take this challenge again next week as my personal goal. I have done it many times before, and maybe I can get into that mental place to do it again.
I prefer a moderate approach to life, which is why I didn't make a challenge that said, "No Treats!" But I am reconsidering . . .maybe it would be easier. Once you start eating treats, sometimes it makes it that much harder to stop. Maybe a week with none at all would be simpler?
Don't worry I won't issue that challenge to all of you. Unless you want to, of course. Anyone want to join me for a week of no treats? We can do it in solidarity! Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I'm not completely committed either. Maybe after this week's weigh-in, when I see that the scale is stuck. Maybe that will be the motivation I need. We'll see and I'll get back to you all. . .
And better luck to the rest of you on this week's challenge.

I would say I would join you, but I pretty much live for my little "treat" everyday! I don't know if I could handle giving it up, even for a week. If you DID decide to make it an official challenge, I would of course, give it a go. But voluntarily??? ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sariah---if you issued the challenge of no treats for a week, I would give it my best effort. But to willingly encourage such a notion goes against my feel-goods. :) I say this as I enjoy my treat for the day of Hershey's milk chocolate chips. mmmmm, chocolate. :/ On second thought, perhaps a week of no treats is a good idea...
ReplyDeleteWhen this first started I did five days without treats (I did eat fruit but not chocolate, candy, etc.) It was hard but I have lost the desire to eat as many treats so I say bring it on as a challenge:)
ReplyDeleteIm not getting the group points either - I can eat treats mindlessly sometimes.
