Going to Bed Hungry

My inspiration for this week's challenge came from the one and only Bob Harper, of Biggest Loser fame.

He sure is nice to look at, so I'm including a photo here for your enjoyment.

You may or may not have heard that Bob wrote a book called,

The Skinny Rules: The Simple, Nonnegotiable Principles for Getting to Thin

I read some of it this summer and plan to read the rest once I can steal it back from my sister. Anyway, one of the rules is Go to Bed Hungry. So this was my inspiration for the challenge this week-No eating after dinner.
How's that going for everybody? Several of you shared that it was going to be a difficult one. I'd love to hear if you're finding it possible to stick to it. Here's a little excerpt about this rule I found in a magazine article outlining his rules and some of his thoughts about each of them,

If you skip that midnight snack, your body will “burn fat like crazy,” Harper writes. After five hours without food, you’ll start burning your own fat and sugar. Further, it may even help you sleep better, since having fewer carbs in your bloodsteam allows your body to produce the hormones it needs to bring on sleep.

Harper admits this can be one of the tougher rules to adopt. Try to set a time after which you won’t eat anymore, and keep yourself distracted with movies, TV, Internet surfing, or whatever it takes.

Don't you feel even better about your efforts now? Two more days for this challenge. Let's stick to it! (And hopefully continue with it moving forward.)

In response to Emily's status update on facebook one day, Sarah and Sariah recently had a little conversation regarding this very topic.  I think it's appropriate to share with all of you.

Sariah: you know, I just used to judge my calorie intake by whether or not I was hungry when I went to bed. Hungry = GOOD JOB ME!

Sarah: ha Sariah . . . I like to think that my hunger pains mean my body is eating my fat . . .lol

Sarah & Sariah, you didn't realize that one of the most attractive and popular personal trainer nutritionists was going to back you up on those thoughts, did you? Well he does! So-GOOD JOB YOU!

Good night my friends and fellow hotties striving for good health. May your body "burn fat like crazy" tonight!

  2. Thanks for the motivation because this one has been really tough for me. I enjoy sitting down after kids, cooking, cleaning, and enjoying a sweet. Now I just drink a lot of water and for sure go to bed hungry:)
