Hey ladies!
I'm Heather Herrick, the former moderator and creator of this here little idea. The first round turned out to be great fun and successful for many, so I'm super jazzed about that. I'm also pretty happy that Sariah is willing to take over for a while, because being the moderator took more time and energy than I initially anticipated, so I was ready for a little break.
However, I don't want it to be a break from setting goals regarding my health and fitness, so here I am-ready to participate.
Last round I reached my initial goal weight and was grateful for fitting into my size 10's! Also, I was grateful that I didn't go backward over the eating holidays! My 5-year old took these pics for me today. I wanted one specifically of my backside. I am hoping that the next few pounds come off of there, ya' know-bum, hips, thighs. But most likely my chest will continue to shrink. :-S I rarely get a good look at my backside . . .hmmm, glad it's a bit out of focus. I have a goal to lose 7.6 more pounds in the next 10 weeks.
A new challenge I am setting for myself is the training for and completion of my first triathlon, at a date to be determined sometime in the summer. I have found that having a race to train for is so helpful for me to keep me focused and motivated with my workouts. I love running! Sometimes I hate it too, but I just keep doing it because the overall benefits far outweigh the inconveniences. However, I am taking a break from marathons until next year, so a triathlon it is.
If anyone wants to come running, Elise and I go every Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday mornings-usually starting at 6 a.m.
A few people dropped out early in the game last round because they felt like it was too much to keep track of. And I will give you that, it is a lot. However, I always say, "What's the alternative?" And also, something is better than nothing. Even if you can't do it all every week, whatever you do accomplish will be better than the alternative. Every good thing we do for ourselves makes a difference. It applies on so many levels, not just nutrition and exercise.
So welcome aboard newbies and welcome back oldies (you probably don't want to be called oldies, huh? okay, how about we just stick with "hotties"?)! Let's help each other get and stay healthy & fit!
You're looking amazing Heather! I'll admit I'm nervous about messing things up as moderator around you!
