I hope the title won't offend any of you. But I needed that word to share the gravity of this situation. I have been off my game ladies! I think it’s a combination
of hormones, and fatigue, and . . .cookies.
I set a personal goal to replace one meal a day with a
protein shake, to see if I could get past this temporary plateau I’ve been
experiencing, and do you know what? Well I haven’t had one single protein
shake. Instead I have replaced more than one of meals since last Friday, with
milk and cookies. I’ve managed to stay within my calorie budget, so I’m hoping
I won’t gain, but my anticipation for progress is pretty flimsy, (as it should
be).
I need to put this on my cupboard!
I need to put this on my cupboard!
But I have been trying not to get down on myself, because
I’ve learned it just isn’t worth it. Life is life. There are ups and downs and
hormones and delicious cookies. Nobody can do it all . . . all the time. I
certainly can’t, but I try to remember that what I do most of the time is what has the most impact. So instead of worry
about not doing it all . . .all the time, I can relax a little and be happy.
Not get down on myself.
It’s so easy to just keep hoping to do more & be better
than we are, but if we don’t ever take a moment to pat ourselves on the back
for the good things we’re doing, well shoot-we’ll just be miserable!
So there are the cookies, but here are some of the good
things I’ve been doing.:
·
Meal planning for my family and staying within
my grocery budget
·
Exercising, even on days I can’t make my morning
workout happen
·
Drinking my water
·
Logging my food, even the cookies
·
Playing with my kids & reading to them
·
Washing and folding laundry every day (not
always getting it put away . . .so don’t you worry about me being translated or
anything like that ;-)
·
Chatting with my husband more often, even when
it means staying up past my bedtime.
How about all of you? What are some of your recent successes?

I loved this...my recent success was that a pair of my pre-pregnancy jeans buttoned up! Still a little too much muffin top to wear in public, but progress nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Stephanie! I love getting out of those maternity jeans! It's coming for you and Quinn is still a little peanut. Cutest little peanut!
