So....this is my table. I bet you didn't even notice my flowers. Sad. I made it my goal this week, to wash it at least once a day! It is our dump zone! We can't even sit down for dinner most nights.
Oh...and I still need more snack ideas!
I've had one rough week. I decided to go down on calories...and it's back fired. I'm still nursing and I think it put my body into starvation mode. I thought it would be a great idea to eat less and have my milk supply dwindle because Audrey is one next week! I am so done nursing! However, she is not. She has started nursing 3 times a day again! :( I don't know what to do!!! So, any weening ideas? Or any losing weight while nursing ideas?
Well, hope everyone is still having some success somewhere!
Have a great week!
I couldn't get my youngest to take a bottle since the day he was born. My other 3, as long as it was food, they were good to go! I had one weekend where I was literally not home until bedtime, so the baby (almost 11 months) had to take a bottle or starve. It worked, although my husband was actually glad to go to work on Monday!
ReplyDeleteAs for snacks, I like to keep fresh fruit and veggies on hand. I don't even buy my kids pre-made snacks because I totally steal their fruit snacks too! The fun part about fresh fruit is that you can throw it in a blender with a little yogurt and you have a yummy smoothie!
Sorry I'm not much use here...I started giving my kids sippy cups of pumped breast milk well before the year mark, so weaning when they hit a year didn't cause anyone much distress...I also hardly lost a thing until I STOPPED nursing, I guess because I was no longer a milk cow who needed to eat extra calories to produce the milk!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you let me see your table! Its always good to know that I am "normal". I would LOVE to live in a show-house, but that's just not in my future! :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with weening. All of my kids were so different, so I don't have any advice... Sorry!
babyfit.sparkpeople.com is a good website for finding help with nursing, etc.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great! keep up the good work, despite frustrations.
I posted snack ideas. I liked reading over the list again. Helps me think beyond carrots and hummus.
Weaning can be a pain, but remember the stages and crankiness are generally short-lived, A few days, maybe a week. Decide what's going to work for you, then try to stick with a plan, flexibly.
Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's the only way. Make a plan, stick to it, unless it's not working for you, then change it. :-D
