With the holiday season upon us, I find myself being bitten by the baking bug, which is problematic for anyone trying to lose weight. So far I have made delicious cake batter rice krispie treats and banana bread muffins. Tomorrow I'll probably make sugar cookies, then it's on to scotcheroos and lemon squares.
In years past I would have done things differently than how I did this week. The rice krispie treats were a-MA-zing (found the recipe on Pinterest) and I literally wanted to eat the entire batch in one sitting. At one point of my life I may have done so. However, this time around I only had 2 servings out of the whole batch. The rest went to my primary class and my husband.
The banana bread muffins are usually banana-chocolate chip muffins. In an effort to be a little more healthy, I omitted the chocolate chips. Surprisingly enough, I don't think I miss them all that much. I also gave some of these away so I wouldn't eat the whole batch.
While it may not be wise of me to bake this week, I think I need to get it out of my system, plus prove to myself that I can withstand having delicious treats around and not go crazy. This will be a test to my self-control and I am determined to come out on top!!
