My Dear Friend Sugar

So last night I was avoiding going to bed because I knew when I woke up this morning it would be the beginning of no sugar!  It was weird, I felt like I was saying good-bye to a good friend or something.

In all honesty though...this challenge will be tough for me!  At this point I feel like yes, I can give up having treats for this week...the hard part is all of the food that has sugar added.  A quick inventory of my pantry and fridge proved that everything has sugar added...even the can of kidney beans, even the jar of organic minced ginger I just bought, even the heatlhy 9 grain bread we eat has organic honey added.

If nothing else this challenge opened my eyes to how much sugar I was feeding my family without even knowing it, and has inspired me to feed them more foods in their natural states.

I think if this challenge had been in the first or second week I would have failed miserably...but I'm learning about myself.  This past week my husband was out of town, he got back late Tuesday night, I hadn't had a chance to exercise.  With a little encouragement from him I started my workout at 11:30 pm.  Afterwards I felt great, not because that one workout will change my life, but because I met my goal to not miss an exercise point during this competition.  Meeting goals is empowering...so take that sugar!  You got nothing on me!!!

It's time to bring out the big guns this week ladies!  We can do it!!!
