Heather's Week 11 Report

3  months after Judson was born, August 2011.

Running the NYC marathon, November 2011. I trained and worked my butt off to get ready for this race while nursing my baby, etc. I was only 7 lbs. down from my delivery weight when I did this race. I told myself I'd start food journaling and really trying to lose weight after this race was over. That's what I did.
Last May at the beginning of my 3 month plateau. This is where I thought I may have to stay forever  more, because I just wasn't losing. It wouldn't have been the end of the world. I was feeling pretty darn good, except for the frustration! Anyhoo, I was down 25 pounds at this point.
October 2012. Almost a year from when I started working toward losing the rest of the baby weight. Down 32 lbs. Sarah and I went to Park City to run the Pink Half and had a great race and awesome weekend! We started this competition a couple weeks later. My goal was to lose AT LEAST 5 more pounds.

Just before Christmas, in the midst of Hot for the Hoidays. Reached my goal weight of losing 37 lbs!

Cole took this one of me this week. It's not showing much, but it's current. Not much changed between Christmas and now. I've gone up and down again. I'd still like to lose 5 more pounds. But I'm happy with the work I've done and how far I've come!
On with my report and some important information!

Last Week's Weight= 162.7
This Week's Weight= 159.6
                 Difference= 3.1
A. Points for weight loss= 15.5

1 Waist 29.75 (hey, hey, waist got smaller this week)
2 Chest 34.5 (we knew that would come off again)
3  Hips  38
4  R. thigh 24.25
4  L. thigh 24.25 (that's right girls, my thighs are the same size again)
5  R. calf  15.25
5  L. calf  15.25
6  R. arm  11.5
6  L. arm  11.5
      TOTAL 204.25
Last week's inches total= 206.25 (If you were to go back and check you'd see that I made an error with this number last week, oops. But I fixed it. I wouldn't have got any points either way.)
This week's inches total= 204.25
                   Difference= 2
B. Points for inches lost= 20

C. Other Hottie Points for the week (out of 84)= 74 (Darn group challenge, whose idea was that anyway? Curse you Bob Harper!)

Weekly Total (A+B+C)= 109.5

So, despite the group challenge failure I had a really good week. Sometimes I think I make things harder for myself than they even need to be.
It has been a great 11 weeks. I am so happy that I lost weight and was in control over the holidays. So many people eat their way through the holidays and tell themselves, "I'll turn over a new leaf after the new year." And maybe they will. But doing what we did can really help us make positive lasting changes. We set goals and did our best to stick with them when conditions weren't perfect. We didn't let everything be an excuse. And that's just awesome, because life is never perfect. Things don't always line up how we hope. And if we can make good choices and stay committed to our goals when the odds are stacked against us, well so much the better when the sailing is a little more smooth.
This is the end of our first round. HOWEVER, if you're interested in signing up for another round, Sariah, the roller derby hottie with the flat tummy and toned arms, has volunteered to be the moderator for another round starting in February. There will be some slight changes in rules and reporting that will be outlined, but generally the same program will go forward. We haven't decided on the exact dates, but it would start on February 1st for another 8-10 weeks.
When I put up our Final Standings on Sunday, I'll outline what you need to do in order to sign up to keep on keepin' on with Sariah as the moderator. We'll open up the competition to whomever would like to join us as well, so if you have a friend that's been interested and wanting to join, this would be the time to give them a head's up and shoot me their contact information
Excited to hear from you with your reports. The ones I've recieved so far this morning are impressive indeed! People gave an impressive showing for the final week!

  1. This is a work in progress, but it posted to the blog already, so I'll update it tomorrow with my numbers and such.

    It's a lot of pictures, but my weight loss has been a long process, so I wanted to capture it all.

  2. You are looking gorgeous and I've always admired you for your love of running (something that I can't seem to get into but am always impressed by). You also have some serious moves on the dance floor!! Thank you again for all your hard work putting this together.
