Hi, my name is Tamara

Hello, my name is Tamara and I really need this!!!  I am super excited that Heather is so wonderful and that she put this together and invited me to join.  There was a time that I was happy with the way I looked but I feel like I don't even notice myself anymore.  It makes me sad that I never want to be in a photo with my family or friends and sad that I am losing those memories.  I am a mother of three boys under three so my home life gets a little crazy but I am tired of excuses.  I need to exercise more and for sure start to eat better.  Baking calms me so I find myself baking every night.  After I did three rounds of IVF four years ago, my body has never been the same so I need to retrain it.  I am excited to hear what great advice you ladies will have to offer and I hope in some ways I will have ideas that will help you.

Sariah

Hello!  My name is Sariah Sunvison and I am an emotional eater.  Food has always been the biggest obstacle to my health and wellness (and lets be honest, looking good in a bathing suit) goals.  Its an endless cycle - the worse I feel, the more food I eat, the fatter I get, so the worse I feel...and so on.  I have these "special" 15 pounds that I gain and lose over and over again.  I would like to get my eating under control and hopefully remain at a reasonably steady weight!  My hopes are that my accountability to this group will stop curb some this emotional eating.  I need to learn to eat to live, not to eat for comfort!

Exercise has never been a problem for me.  I love physical activity and am currently very active.  For the last couple of years my fitness goals have been all about improving my performance in my chosen hobby/extracurricular activity - roller derby!  I go to two hour long practices at least three times a week.  I hope to get stronger and faster, thereby becoming a better player and a more reliable teammate for the great group of women I skate with!

I look forward to this challenge and I am especially looking forward to reaping the benefits of just plain feeling healthier and (HOPEFULLY) looking better.  (What can I say?  I'm ultra vain!)  Any monetary rewards that might come along are just icing on the (calorie-free) cake!

Me and mine

Well I like Elise, think that this is a great idea. Some times I think that I am the only one who can't put the sweets aside. It is refreshing and exciting to think that I will be able to get together with women like me who want to be healthier and stronger.
A little about me, I am a stay at home mother of 3. I home school my kids and I am a "fly baby" with a messy house getting organized one day at a time.  I have a wonderful Husband who is the Navy and loves being home with his family.  I am 30 tomorrow and I feel like if I don't start doing better now that the consequences are too vast to put off. My family history is riddled with Dietetics and other diet related heath risks. I know that it is lurking down the path I am on, of over eating, sweet snacking, inconsistent exercise, and other poor health choices. I have been doing about 50% better over the last month, and I am happy with results I have had this far. I know that I can and need to do better.
I have to say that competition scares me. I came from a family where competition was a bad word. We didn't play sports or things like that. I was a quiet reader who never felt adequate so I never competed with anyone even after I left home. For me it is easier to just let other people win, than to feel bad that they lost.  I did and still do have a habit of comparing myself to others and down playing things that I do. My darling husband helps with that as much as he can, often wondering why I can't see what he sees.
I look forward to doing this and doing it well. Good luck to everyone.

Introducing ME

Hi! My name is Elise Adams. I am VERY excited about this Health and Fitness Competition!!! I have to warn you girls....I am in it to win it, so watch out!!

Ha. Just kidding. I am in it to win it, but I am just as real and overwhelmed by 'life' as anybody else is! I love Heather and her philosophy of health and fitness. I encourage you all to listen to what she has to say. She knows what she is talking about!

I am a stay at home mom of four small children. The ages of my kids are 7, 5, 3, and 1. I am busy all day long! Ha!

Right now for my fitness I enjoy running and weight lifting. I can ALWAYS use a little encouragement and improvement with my diet though! I struggle with too many sweets and not enough variety in my diet, so this will be the two main things I work on through our 2.5 month journey together!

I am so grateful Sarah and Heather started this whole thing! Hooray for us! We can do it! I sure will enjoy helping each of you as we head into this competition together! Let's do it!

Welcome to our Competition!

I'm excited for the next two and a half months!

This is meant to be a place where we can help each other! That means we will share ideas, recipes, motivation, frustrations, solutions, whatever it may be.

I am always striving to be healthy & fit. But I don't want to be obsessed or let it run my life. I still want to bake delicious treats and share them with the people I love. Sometimes I want to sleep in instead of running in the early morning darkness, and I think that's okay.

So don't stress out; don't overthink it; this is supposed to be fun! (I am starting after Halloween after all . . .that was nice of me, right? Enjoy that last fun size Snickers bar. No, I'm kidding. Moderation girls.)

I will be back in the next week to introduce myself officially and I hope you will too!
